WHAT MAKES A GREEN HOME?
A green home incorporates smart design, technology, construction
and maintenance elements to significantly lessen the negative impact
of the home on the environment and improve the health of the people
living in it. Opportunities for living a greener life at home are limited
only by your imagination.

Construction Services has been in consultation since
February 2011 with the home owner, faculty from the
University of Florida, the Florida Green Building Coalition,
solar engineering firms, geothermal engineers, building
suppliers, and others. In preparation for building this house
we have been on tours of other highly energy efficient
homes in central Florida.
Simply building 'green' is not enough: we will also build
with cost effectiveness in mind. For each of the expenses
in building this 'green' house, we have also calculated the
approximate time-line for cost recovery, after which real
savings accrue. In order to verify our calculations; each of
the 'green' systems in this house will be monitored for their
performance.
This home will be featured in the 2012 Spring Parade of
Homes which will be available for viewing by interested
parties during March of 2012 - dates & times to be
announced.
